Football Sports Fields-
★ Sports Authority Field at Mile High, Denver CO
The sports field at Mile High Stadium, used primarily by the Denver Broncos, was designed as a multiuse athletic field for football, lacrosse and soccer. The design utilizes sand based athletic field technologies developed by MST. The project scope included the design of subgrade and finished grading design, subdrainage system, automatic irrigation system, USGA sand rootzone, hydronic field warming and subsurface aerification systems, as well as a reinforced natural turf surface. This field, completed in June 2001, was awarded the Sports Turf Managers Professional Field of the Year in 2005.
★ Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia PA
This multipurpose athletic field, designed for use by the Philadelphia Eagles and local collegiate football teams, utilizes sand based athletic field technologies developed at MST. The field design consisted of the sub-grade and finished grading design, subdrainage system, automatic irrigation system, USGA sand rootzone, hydronic field warming and subsurface aerification systems, as well as a reinforced natural turf surface. Completed in 2003.
★ Boone Pickens Stadium, Stillwater OK
The athletic field design for Boone Pickens Stadium utilizes a unique reinforced sand based athletic field technology. Work on the field included removal and replacement of an artificial turf surface and underlayments, installation of a sub-drainage system, an automatic irrigation system, and reinforced USGA sand rootzone. Additional projects on campus consisted of the complete renovation of the football program’s practice fields as well as a renovation of the OSU’s Reynolds field Baseball Stadium. Completed in 2005.
★ Purdue University, West Lafayette IN
Purdue’s multi-phase projects included the design and renovation of one football practice field in 2005, the design and renovation of the women’s soccer stadium field, and consulting for the renovation and re-sodding of Ross-Ade Stadium in 2006. MST also prepared design and construction documents for two new football practice fields as part of the Mackey Arena renovation project that included one natural turf and one synthetic turf field (shown above). Completed in 2009.
